Hi there - I wanted to respond because I am a child/adolescent therapist located in Bethesda and treat kids with anxiety as well as work with parents of kids with anxiety. I've currently got some spots open if you have yet to find a good therapist for your child.

Something to think about: there's incredible program called SPACE (Supportive Parenting For Anxious Childhood Emotions) that works with parents to treat the child's anxiety, and doing it along with your child's therapy (or without) will dramatically increase results. After a few sessions, you will notice that you are responding to your child's anxiety differently, and accomodating it less, and it's showing up less in your house. I'm happy to discuss it with you if you're interested in how you can help out your helping your child. It's really miraculous - check out the book on it written by Dr. Eli Leibovitz, Breaking Free of Child Anxiety & OCD: A Scientifically Proven Program for Parents. A few sessions will change your household - it's that helpful!
