What are the must see highlights?

Flight reaching at night.

We will have about 5 to 6 hours before going back to the airport.

Taxi or public transport?

Taxi is $$$$$ public transport is right there- connected to airport. Can you stay at the airport hote?

Yes that's doable. 16 hour overnight transit so we have a few hours to visit the city in the morning.

No need to stay at an airport hotel— train is super easy to get to town.

We stayed at 71 Nyhavn and that is a convenient and interesting neighborhood (but it’s maybe a 10 min from the train to the hotel if you want something even more convenient).
