How are the DOGE people getting security clearances with so many bad acts in their backgrounds?

Anonymous
DOGE has in positions of power people who never would have been hired in the federal Government in a normal administration, and they have access to all our data. Does this mean they don't have security clearances, or do they just get granted security clearances because Trump or someone high up says so?

Jeremy Lewin, first DOGE, now "acting administrator" of what is left of USAID: 10 people who know him talked about how he was violent and virulently racist (there's a police report with witnesses about how he put a knife to a girl's throat and threatened to ‘gut [her] and cut [her] right now,’” adding that the girl told police she feared for her life and several classmates talking about how he was ejected from classes for saying blatantly racist things

Edward Coristine, age 19, DOGE senior adviser at DHS and the State Dept. who calls himself "Big Balls." Popcorn heir/Northeastern dropout was terminated from his first internship with a private company for leaking their proprietary data and provided tech support to a cybercrime ring. Former FBI official quoted as saying there's no way someone with that background would get a security clearance, yet he has access to access to sensitive financial and security data from several government agencies.

Marko Elez resigned from DOGE over racist remarks and social media posts like before Musk insisted he would rehire him and is now at Department of Labor and has access to sensitive systems at HHS.

Trump can grant anyone a security clearance. These guys never filled out an SF86, I’m sure.

They aren't. They are irresponsibly bypassing background checks and protocols.

This. Security cleanses is for the little people.

Rules for thee, not for me.

If you haven’t noticed, this administration isn’t really into rules around things like sensitive info. I remember I read under Trump 1 admin, Jared Kushner was having a hard time getting a security clearance because people thought he was potentially compromised and Trump just gave it to him.

I’m sure the same happened for the DOGE nuts.

Trump issued an executive order as soon as he was sworn in that granted his political appointees immediate security clearances, without their having to pass FBI background checks, valid for 6 months.

This. They don't have to get security clearance because Republicans don't care about that anymore.

It's insane.

You'd be surprised at what you can do and still get a clearance. And I agree with it-- you don't want places like the CIA and Special Forces populated by Mormon boy scouts. The sort of person to get into a bar fight isnt the same sort of person to steal information for China, so I do agree with it. If its true that Big Balls provided internal company data to a cyber crime ring, which is a pretty serious accusation, then that IS the sort of personality that would steal info for China and ia a problem.

DOGE staff aren't getting clearances. Republicans made sure of that.

And now they have access to much of our government data.

And yet my agency informed me that the new policy for me is continual background check.

Exactly. That's the policy for the rest of us, but not for the fascist inner circle.

I’m assuming you are not one of Trump’s henchmen.

What makes you think anyone Trump hires or appoints has security clearances? If Trump required them and honored them, most of his close staff, cabinet, and relatives would not be given one. Heck, he wouldn't pass one himself.

Lol. You mean stealing classified documents and storing them in the crapper isn't ok?
