Best banking experience for home loans? Who do you recommend?

| Looking for which banks to go through to apply for a home loan. Our pre-approval ended and we're not happy the bank wasn't exactly responsive and they didn't even give us a max we quality it was more like "what do you want the loan for" type situation. I'd like to know the max amount even if I don't get the loan for that amount. What banks have you have a good experience with? Who did you have a bad experience with? Who would you use today? Thanks! |

| All of my husband's home loans have been through M&T Bank. I don't bank with them, but used them 2x in the last 5 years (house and vacation house). They were fantastic. |
