Apparently one of the most competitive years because of the birth rate. |
Check instagram. Generally pretty well. |
They always do well. Anecdotally, my friend’s kid who is in top 10% of their school and is unhooked is going to a WASP (Williams, Amherst, Swarthmore, Pomona) liberal arts school and was shut out of T20 schools. |
Dalton only has a handful of decisions up. >40% are ivies. >50% are ivies + duke. |
Riverdale very impressive. Just don't know if any of those are unhooked. |
Trinity has more than half up. exactly 50% ivies. |
I read on the college forum that Spence has 7 or 8 out of 60 going to Harvard |
I would love to see the stats on how many are hooked. Still super impressive but that has a big influence.
When we applied to privates we made a point of name dropping our alma maters and that we are fairly active. Not sure if it mattered (I know it didn't at one top school) but doesn't hurt. |
IIRC, most private school applications ask where the parents went to college and graduate school, so no need to even name drop. They already know! ![]() |
I don't think we were asked in our apps, though not 100% sure on that. I wonder if they have people who google stalk to find out! |
A number of them ask where you went to grade school too. |
They most definitely ask on the apps. |
