DOGE kids sleeping in GSA building on F st?

Anonymous
Does anyone know about this? At the General Services Administration’s towering federal office building in downtown Washington, workers have set up at least four separate rooms on the 6th floor for sleeping, complete with beds from IKEA, lamps and dressers, according to two career GSA employees.

The agency is also considering spending about $25,000 to install a washer and dryer on the building’s 6th floor, according to a Feb. 25 invoice obtained by POLITICO. There is also a child’s play area decorated with a stuffed animal and toys, according to a photo of the room shared with POLITICO.

Yes, this was reported weeks ago, by workers in the building who saw the 6th floor being set-up.

Not only is it crazy to have federal employees (even DOGE ones) sleeping at the office, it's beyond inappropriate to have a spouse and baby there as well. You want everyone else to RTO, and deal with commutes and daycare, but you're bringing your family to live in your office?!?!?

The article used the word odd over and over but I understand why.

Like..these are the life choices these people are making, for themselves?! That's fine but enough bringing the rest of us down with you.

Yes, this is as outrageous as when CEOs of tech companies were wearing hoodies to work and playing ping pong. Or when people started going casual on Fridays before that. Or when men stopped wearing suits to the office before that. Quick, someone call the trend police. This has got to stop or the whole world will go to hell in a handbag.

No one is forcing you to make those bad choices. The bueaty of freedom of choices is that you can opt out and find something else. It's stupid to live at work, but let's not pretend this trend won't disappear in a couple years.

You just equated a wife and child to hoodies and ping pong.

You're the crazy one.

Umm. No. In case you aren't trying to be obtuse and..the people refusing to go home at night and making work life are also doing their jobs quite terribly. Thanks to that and their judgement about all things, not just where to wash their clothes, being off base .. we are losing AIDS research, Education data, parks, economic security in the region and beyond, etc.

And no, normal people won't be sleeping in their offices writing bad code in a couple years.

Who cares? Let them sleep there and work 24/7. They’ll leave faster that way.

+1. Do we really want them to have apartment leases that keep them here for one year or more?

Is this why they want the institute of peace building? Better digs to live in?
