Hi Jeff,

There’s a poster on that thread that keeps insulting others when they disagree with them. The latest is that someone does not connect with Jake or like the Jake storyline and the poster immediately insults with “you must be unable to grasp….” Or “you lack empathy.” I think it’s the same poster who keeps stirring stuff up (ie. earlier in the thread about Dr Collins and how if you didn’t like her you must not like strong black women or you must be thrilled she miscarried.) This poster keeps derailing the thread and inserting negativity every time someone has a different opinion. Can you see if it’s the same poster? Can you do anything about it?

Report the posts you think are problematic, with a brief reason, e.g. “insulting and non-responsive” or “off-topic/derailing the thread.” I report a lot of posts, and Jeff is very responsive (assuming he agrees).

While I try to be responsive as the previous poster says, in this case I am probably not going to be. That is a 37 page thread and I don't have the time or interest to read it. The posts that have been reported don't appear to have anything wrong with them as far as i can tell. Perhaps in context of the greater thread, they are problematic, but I am not familiar with that context. The whole dispute seems a bit childish, to be honest. As far as I can tell, posters simply don't agree about whether a fictional scene in a television drama is realistic. That is not a dispute that I want to spend my time refereeing.

Ha - I haven't visited that thread at all, but the poster in question sounds like the poster who shows up on all of those threads to lecture anyone who disagrees with her about various characters. Most recently, she's been derailing the White Lotus thread, but she also did the same thing a while back in the Succession thread. Assuming it's the same person...

The poster is continuing to just stir stuff up. She’s accusing people of racism if they don’t like a certain character who happens to be black. If anyone explains why they think this character is boring, she goes ballistic. Can you please take a look? I reported a few sock puppeting posts. The latest is someone else actually posted and agreed and she is now going nuts with nonsense posts. She thinks it was me bringing it back up but it wasn’t.

The posts that were reported for sock puppeting were not sock puppeted. As I said earlier, I don't have it in me to read through that thread. If you want to report the posts in question, I'll take a look at them. But I am not getting involved otherwise.
