Traffic off Wilson near Landon

Anonymous
Hello- we are looking at a home on Marbury/Wilson right across from Landon. I am nervous about the traffic in that area given three schools closeby- Landon/Whitman/Pyle. However, on google maps it doesn't appear to show 'red' during drop off/pick up times. This home has been on the market longer than expected so I'm wondering if there is a traffic issue I may not be fully aware of. Any insight would be helpful!

I think you’re OK across from Landon, but I used to pick up my kid at Burning Tree (out of district so I wasn’t in the neighborhood) and Wilson was annoying at Pyle pickup time. By the light at Whittier. This was years ago, hopefully someone will have more recent info.

I assume I know the house you’re talking about and that is very close to a very busy street. We live nearby and I would never ever want to live that close. Landon traffic is awful. Marbury is a great street but not that close in.

It is all relative. Why not go there around pickup time and see if it is an amount you are OK with? That is the best way to tell.

It's also only twice a day for the school traffic. Will you be home in the afternoons to see it?

Nope, those boys driving through your neighborhood. Not worth it.

Take a book and a chair, sit at a nearby bus stop one day, and judge for yourself.

Landon hires off duty cops to direct traffic during school pick up times. I'd say that qualifies as a heavy traffic area, at least during certain times of day.

I live in the area and you are surrounded by three major roads:River, Wilson, and Bradley. Pyle and Landon have police directing traffic for pick up and drop off. You can use neighborhood roads to avoid Wilson Lane to get to River or Bradley. Wilson gets congested during am and pm rush hours but again there are neighborhood work arounds. This would not be a deal breaker for me.
