| I hired someone to tile my kitchen. My house is old and has wood floors. They tiled the floor and within weeks the tiles started cracking. When discussing the tile job with them I found out they failed to use an uncoupling membrane to prevent tile movement so the cracking isn’t surprising. I had asked them to come back a few times to fix it and they finally texted “I am going to snap”. I’m assuming they’re threatening to hurt me? I’m a single woman. Would you do anything with this or just leave it alone/stop communicating. |
| No I don’t think you can consider it a clear threat (they genuinely may have meant they were going to yell/curse you out via text) but I absolutely would drop it and not pursue. I know that completely sucks but if it were me the possibility they really were violent would not be worth it. |

Nobody threatened you.
Hire someone else to do the job right. |
Someone saying they’re going to snap means they’re going to lose control. How? Who knows. It is a threat. |
| You should call the police. They will probably not do anything very helpful, but might have advice for you. Clearly this person is trying to get out of fixing their mistake, by issuing threats that are vague enough that police might not act. Maybe they've been doing this to multiple clients. You should give them a terrible review, and include the threat in your review. Also post on Nextdoor to ask if others have had problems with this person. |
| It's not a threat. Jiminy crickets |
You asked if the physical threatened you. They did not. |
They will certainly do something. Laugh at your face!! |
| How much did you pay for this defective job? You could take him to small claims court. |
Then it is a warning. |
Stop posting like an idiot. This is a threat, but it's vague. She needs to alert police, and she needs to figure out whether this contractor has had bad reviews and a history of threatening clients to get out of fixing shoddy work. |
| No I wouldn't. They are frustrated and probably don't know how to fix it. Just drop it and hire someone else. |
| No. |
$1500 for a small kitchen. I got 3 quotes and they were more expensive than Home Depot but slightly less than another outfit. I have 6 cracked tiles and cracked grout all over the place. |

You people scoffing at the idea op should be worried need to buff up your self preservation instincts.
Sure, it’s highly likely he’s meaning he will snap and verbally berate her or something and not try to intimidate her with the specter of physical violence. On the other hand that is also the type of thing someone who was trying to evoke fear of violence would say. And it’s incredible unprofessional and unhinged, obviously. |
