How do people manage trips with friends without arguing?

How do you manage not to have arguments with multiple adults, teens, children involved ?

Our nuclear family can’t make it thru a week’s trip without an argument.

Are the people traveling with other families those with younger kids?

Wait what? Arguments with friends? I haven't had an argument with a friend since I was probably 15.

Everyone is fairly easy-going, nobody has any major special needs, everyone assumes the best of everyone else. I traveled with family friends (and extended family) as a kid growing up, and do it now as an adult. Never a problem. Occasionally a kid has a meltdown and gets taken away by a parent to calm down and then rejoins but that's like one in five trips.
