My child is supposed to be going to Israel on a birthright trip this May and I’m somewhat concerned about safety given the current climate.
Politics aside, would you be ok with your college aged child traveling to Israel next month? |
Politics aside? Really? |
She'll be fine. They'll have security with their group. |
No. I don’t want to take the risk of my kid getting blown up in Israel or harassed back in the USA for having taken a trip of that nature to Israel. I’ve been there several times myself but the climate was different. |
I would not be worried. Just as El Al is probably the safest airline to fly, Israel is more prepared for problems than most countries. Monitoring events would be prudent in case a change of plans seems appropriate, but unless something changes significantly I'd consider Israel itself to be quite safe. |
I’d be ok with it safety-wise because I think Birthright will have a lot of security and will change itinerary, etc if anything seems risky. But I might be concerned about how your kid would feel about things like sirens, having to run to shelters, etc - how stressful and scary would they find that? My kid is going on a trip with school next month so that is what I have been thinking about too |
I know so many people who had their BR trips cancelled. I wouldn't let my child go. |
No |
Of course not. |
Absolutely. Many people travelling now. All the flights are back up. We will be there for half of the summer. |
