Improve soccer skills

How to improve soccer skills? Our rec. team has been scoring 0 to max 2 points for the last few few seasons. My DC sucks at soccer skills, so he is not contributing to the team. He does like the team players and the parent coach, so he comes back every season. However, it has been depressing that they score a lot of zero points when the opponent teams score 10 points & above at games. I want him to work on his skills so that at least maybe he can help the team to score 1 points. He is 9. Anyways to improve skills like clinic in Montgomery county?

My kid’s skills got appreciatively better after a couple of weeks at the DC United Soccer camp
last summer. I think they run one in Bethesda.

This. My kids do a couple weeks of soccer camp every summer (their choice) and in their own words, doing that many reps has improved their skills a lot.

Summer camp is great, and depending on where you live, you up for can also sign up for a 6-8 week skills class to improve skills.

What town do you live in? We could recommend a clinic or camp that is close to you.

How many touches of the ball does your son do at home by himself? How comfortable is he with the ball? There are lots of Youtube videos which teach kids different touches. Does your son practice juggling the ball every day? There are 10 year olds who will juggle 1000 times. Practice passes against a wall. This will help him to pass and receive the ball better. This is all free, without needing someone to tell him what to do.
