"The U.S. Department of Education told states Friday that it was canceling previous approvals to spend down remaining COVID-19 recovery funds, a change that could mean $418 million to the Maryland Department of Education.
The change was announced in a letter from U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon that was dated Friday at 5 p.m., and said the decision to cancel the pandemic funding was effective -- Friday at 5 p.m." --from Maryland Matters |
This administration is wholly unfit for office. |
They WANT to cause chaos. For them there is no downside to worse public schools, students with disabilities who can't access education. |
Wasn't Covid declared over like 2 years ago? |
I saw the story on NBC4 last night. What a joke. The money was being used for tutoring for at-risk students and those who struggled with learning hurdles.
But he's told us over and over how much he loves the poorly educated. Cutting education is the only way the GOP can make gains in their numbers. Their members skew older than Dems and are dying off. Young people are overwhelmingly Democratic, except for straight white young men, who let's face it, are pretty much a minority now. It's why they are so whiny and needy. |
See the post below yours. The money was appropriated by Congress and is being used to alleviate the harm caused. |
Good. Back to the states.
This fed.gov is way too big and intrusive. |
You realize the money is going away, right? |
Shut up....ignorant swine. |
So funny all the VA parents crying about covid and how the schools owe them,.....well enjoy morons because all the interventions/tutoring will now be cut. |
+100 |
Good lord you are dumb. the money isn’t going back to the states idiot. It’s going to the rich and corporations via tax cuts. |
This. |
VA went blue. How is this our fault? |
