Another lottery question PK4

Anonymous
My kid didn’t get great lottery number ( or so assumed) For PK4, their WL numbers are

Yu Ying - #41
Inspired - #26
Stokes Brookland Spanish - # 36
DC Bilingual - #89

I just assumed that we don’t have a chance but just checked waitlist data and it seems like YY went upto 39 so there might still be hope?! Or am I reading it incorrectly? And Inspired went upto 61.

What are the chances that by fall the kid will get into one of these? Thank you.

Up to 61? If that's not a typo, something very weird is happening. Suggest you call MySchoolDC.

You can look at past years data here https://public.tableau.com/app/profile/aaron2446/viz/MSDCSeatsandWaitlistOfferData_draft/MSDCPublicDisplay

Sometimes your number will get worse because a person behind you on the list got to jump over you into the sibling category when they completed enrollment paperwork for a sibling.

Sometimes your number will get better if people voluntarily exit the list for whatever reason.

It seems like your chances are slim but never say never. It’s possible that the children that got matched might not enroll, and it’s also possible that the other people ahead of you on the waitlist might not even accept that offer.
