We’re about to renovate our basement and rent it out and need a new range for it. We have an induction and love it. But since not all pots and pans work with it, I’m hesitant to put an induction range in the rental. The other option is a classic electric range.
Has anyone put in an induction range in their rental? Any freaks feedback? |

Induction will be much safer.
|
| Definitely induction. Replaced our oven 5 years ago and kicking myself now for not getting induction. |
| For a rental you need to use an electric range. Do not make your renters buy all new pots and pans just for a temporary housing arrangement. |
| Don't listen to the dumb rich ladies who don't understand that renting is a 1-2 year thing. Don't make renters buy new pots and pans. |
| Induction but you provide the pot and pans. |
lol. This is not a good idea in a basement rental. |
Why not? It’s not a huge expense to supply a couple of pots and pans. A lot of renters would appreciate it. |
| I don't like induction. Creepy. I wouldn't rent a place with that.. |
| Get the cheapest coil electric they will break everything else |
| I'd never use "provided" cookware - its pretty creepy. But I'd be frustrated if I had to go out and buy a new set. Just get electric and call it a day. |
Why? |
| I agree that a smooth top electric range is the right choice for a rental. |
| I would do electric with a flat top and pick something fairly inexpensive. Also get a good exhaust fan, not just something that pulls the air up from the stove and out into the room but that actually takes it out of the unit. |
| A good electric range is perfectly acceptable for a rental. We have a GE Profile. |
