Do a lot of parents pull their kids out of private for high school? I'm hearing about this and wondering if its true or not... DD mentions to me some friends are leaving, and says she *thinks* it is a lot of kids.

The reporting skills of middle school students trend distortionist. My middle school made it sound like his entired Eighth Grade class was leaving his school. In the end three left, two because of financial considerations, the other because siblings were in another school and it made sense to consolidate.

We found the same thing. A lot of kids like to explore options but in the end we only had 9 kids leave out of 75.

OP here- that's kind of what I was thinking... It doesn't really matter b/c what others are doing won't change our plans, but it sounded like a mass exodus! In my head I thought some of these kids have to be making this up.

The power of suggestion is at work here, too. Someone says they're looking around, which makes another student think it might make sense to look around. (I'm 12:47.)
