More Trump Leaks Endangering People

Beyond the attack plan chat, DOGE and the administration leaked spreadsheets with sensitive information identifying U.S. partners in countries with authoritarian regimes.

More lives will be endangered with this negligence. No one will trust us again and we are opening our national security to unnecessary danger.

A number of these programs, which rely at least in part on State Department and USAID grants, operate in countries run by repressive regimes or authoritarian governments. Exposing key details of those programs, and effectively linking them to the U.S. government, would likely make it easier for those foreign governments to identify citizens or local activists who are associated with those groups and programs.

One top executive at an international nonprofit and U.S. government implementing partner that’s been grappling with the fallout bluntly tells Rolling Stone: “In all our years of receiving grants from a range of governments, we have never seen the safety of government partners treated with such reckless abandon. People will lose their liberty, and possibly even more, because of this.”

Another source with knowledge of the situation — a State Department career official — says: “Lives are in danger that did not have to be.”

Wait a minute, why would these charities helping the host countries be in danger?

Have you tried reading the article?

I'll translate into terms you might understand, imagine a Russian charity in 2023, that was helping Americans promote the great cause of denazifying Ukraine, had their personnel lists exposed to the Biden administration.

This spreadsheet-affair seems silly in the context of other things the Military recently done.
The US Military literally worked in a country for 2o years and they let thousands “on their own” over night:

All those guys who translated for US soldiers? Many were left behind. The used to be protected. For instance, We have enclaves of Koreans in the US who helped in the US. They are on third or fourth generation now. Vietnamese who helped in the US. So many families in the US. No longer I guess

How do you recover from that situation ?? !!! Who will take those jobs the next time we are at war? That is what I worry about.

People take huge leaps of faith when they collaborate with the US Government. What’s that expression about trust? “It takes years to build” and ….

We need these people. Any other strategy is short term

No one is going to help us for a long long time now. All that goodwill. Just up in a puff of an ignoramus’s hot air.

DOGE went to the CIA yesterday. What could possibly go wrong once they have access to all the CIA systems?

Those of us who passed kindergarten know two wrongs don’t make a right. Those of us who can discuss issues on a high school level recognize whataboutism. You wanted Biden impeached over Afghanistan (a timeline and draw down the Trump Admin negotiated and started with its usual carelessness). But the Frump Admin— Signal Chats with journalists, carelessly exposing civilians working with us against hostile regimes— NBD?

If you care about people willing to join the military or work with the US overseas, you should care about this too. Or just be a hypocrite. (Most MaGA is extraordinarily hypocritical)

My DD is an IR/Russian double major currently I college and NSA/CIA was one path she was considering. She says there is a CIA recruiter who spends a decent amount of time in the Russian department, chatting up American citizen/ security clearable majors. She recently crossed the Ic (and State) off her list for internships and jobs. Because this cr#p. For which I am thankful. Even if she was just interning, I wouldn’t want Elmo and this national security clown car to have that info.
