Chances a waitlisted student might get a spot at Walls or Jackson-Reed (11th grade)?

I've seen the stats from previous years, but this year, with so many changes on the fed front, I'm guessing the waitlist movement might look different. Anyone have a good sense of what to expect for the 11th grade waitlist specifically, and which month spots might start to open up, if they do? We have a decision to make soon about whether or not to claim a private school space, but I'm guessing they won't dip into the waitlist before then.

We’re in a similar situation. 10th grader waitlisted for Walls.

Hard to say, but I don't see why not.

You should not expect any 11th grade WL movement at Jackson-Reed.

I would assume that some 10th grader at Walls will transfer out or move so if you are 1,2,3 on the waitlist you might get in. Walls doesn’t lose a bunch of kids ever so if you are 7 or above I’d say the chances are very low.

JR I assume no chance at all.

Could be. Could also be that economic insecurity and job loss may result in kids leaving private for public. Or combination of high interest rates and no W2 income to secure mortgage might make families less mobile.

No one knows.
