Capital City?

We matched with Capital City. We don’t know so many people that go there. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

It seems excellent for ECE, they get above average teachers from the Inspired Teaching program, they have that cool playground courtyard with plenty of outdoor time, and I really liked the ECE head when we met with her. I just wasn't sure about the upper grades. But we know people who are happy there in ECE.

Hi OP. Cap City is a special place, especially for younger grades. I would encourage you to take a tour to judge for yourself. They are one of the oldest continuously open public charter schools in the city. They follow the inspired teaching model and get many of their teachers from that certification program. It has a great facility and surrounding property. Our kids both went there through 5th grade but we have multiple different family friends whose kids stayed all the way through high school and are now succeeding in college, including several with scholarships. We still keep up with families from there friends over a decade later. We have memories from the school that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

They were previously almost impossible to get into. They were one of the first schools, and for years siblings took most spots.

They have a long, successful track record. Their high school is quite small, but I think that Cap City is a very solid choice for any year, really.

How big is the high school? Our kid got a good lottery number, and based on last year's figures, he is likely to get in for 10th grade. We don't know much about the school and would welcome any feedback. Our kid is currently in a Catholic school, but we are considering moving him due to job insecurity.

It is an extremely solid school academically, all the way through. Very established, and very well run.
