Thoughts on this Fort Hunt House?

Curious to get feedback from the group on this house in Fort Hunt. It looks unique compared to a lot of the 50s construction split level homes in the area.

Ideally a 4 bed/3 bath 2,750+ sqft home w/ decent commute to downtown. Fort Hunt has been described as an ideal small community feel in a large city/county. We’ve toured Arlington, but every home we’ve visited is off a busy street.

I like it, seems move-in condition. Seems like a great family house, remodel looks well-done. Not a huge fan of the wood plank [flooring?] ceilings tho.

The wood plank is a little weird

Somehow it manages to have a lot going on yet lack personality.

I like it a lot. Much better than some of the overdone remodels, doesn't stick out like a sore thumb in the neighborhood, has plenty of space, and move in ready.

Hello listing agent.

It's strange. I don't care for the floorpan, starting with the front door that opens into a tiny foyer where the first thing you see is the powder room.

The commute to downtown is generally going to be longer than commutes from Arlington. With more people driving, the traffic is generally getting worse. It’s a great area and the commute is worth it to us, but just be aware.

OP, Where/how are you commuting downtown?
Besides Arlington, any other areas that you looked at? Do you want public/private schools? Budget?

Many years ago, DH and I were priced out of Arlington and moved to Fairfax County. We are near the WFC metro and Tysons - I commute into DC using metro. Still happy with our decision.

It's a weird house. I would not consider it.

The paneling makes it feel like living in a yurt or something. So odd. Also why two pedestal sinks in one bathroom? Did they run out of money on the reno?
