We're still new to the area and are starting to plan for summer (our child attends DCPS Prek3) and are looking to see if we have any options for part or full time childcare.
I've been reading some recommendations, but our options with some programs have generally been limited due to our child 1) not yet fully potty trained, 2) special needs, specifically autism and speech delay, processing delays. Our child is almost three and a half. They can be in a general classroom but struggle to keep up with other kids which can be a challenge. No behavioral issues. We are looking into Everbrook/Kiddie Academy but if there are any programs which are better to consider for kids with special needs we'd love to know about them. Or if you've had first hand experience and have any suggestions? We're still getting our feet under us from our recent move. Thanks! |
If you’re open to going to Cleveland Park I recommend the Gan. Very welcoming. |
Perhaps Easter Seals? Pre-pandemic St. Columba's was also open to our child with this profile, but I don't know about recently. School for Friends could also be worth looking into, they are very inclusive and several 2-3Y preK kids there are still working on toileting. |
