Trump says he has no been told about missing 4 US

Soldiers. Trump is probably lying but he also said he didn't know about the military plans on Signal. Shouldn't the Secretary of Defense be keeping the POTUS informed?

Someone in the admin should be informed and handling public communications, but it doesn't have to be the President immediately.

Or, he's just lying/stalling/obfuscating because he doesn't want to admit to 1) not knowing/remembering the full details of something 2) having an operational failure on his watch or 3) anything that can remotely make him look bad. He does this frequently.
