Any ideas? My iPhone recently started adding Face ID requirement to open Safari. Just started yesterday.
It’s annoying because when I open my phone, I do Face ID and then it unlocks and then if I go to Safari, it immediately has to do it again. I do not have a private browsing mode going. Even if I did, the setting for “require Face ID for private browsing mode” is not set. I’ve looked everywhere in my settings to figure out how to either change it for the passcode in general, for passwords, or for Safari. Everything Google answers has to do with the private browsing mode question… which is not happening on my phone. |
Following.
My immediate thought was that Private Browsing was on. There is a setting for PB that requires Face ID or your security code to open it. I see that you state that PB is not turned on so, unfortunately, I don’t have an answer for you. I did do a Google search for this and there isn’t much info on this beyond the PB mode. |
You probably turned it on accidentally. Touch safari icon and hold lightly. A menu will pop up where you can enable or disable using face id to launch the app. |
This was the answer. It was a setting on the app icon / accessible as you suggested by touching the app. Strange it was nowhere in settings But you fixed it! Thank you -OP |
