Munich hotels and reputable short term rental companies. Please recommend!

We're heading to Germany for a few days. Flying in and out of Munich. I'm just starting my accommodations search. Would really appreciate any hotel recommendations (nothing crazy fancy) as well as recommendations for short term rentals (whether it is a specific property that you can vouch for or a company to search---is AirB&B and VRBO big there? If not, what are the reputable STR companies?). Thanks.

Sonder, Marriott executive apartments

Things like NH hotels are big in Europe.

Also also look at extended-stay hotels like Fairfield Inn, residence Inn, etc. Search on the word extended stay hotel Germany.

Also need a budget and how many people, if any are kids and one room or two.

Adina Aparthotel Munich. There are three in Berlin, I stay in them all the time. They're great. All the advantages of a hotel (daily maid service, bar, restaurant) and all the perks of an apartment. (Kitchen, fridge, w/d)

Thanks for the great responses so far. It's just for two people. Both adults but not a couple, so our preference would be one room, two beds. From previous trips to Europe, I know that twins are often common, which would be fine. As for budget, I would think $250 or $300 a night, tops (unless my internet research begins to tell me that I'm crazy).

We loved Hotel Platzl which is right by the main square. Amazing breakfast and nice rooms.

On another trip DH and DD stayed at Hotel Motel One Sendlinger Tor which is more pared back and aimed at business travelers it seemed but they said it was nice.

Last time I was in Munich I stayed at the Westin, because I stupidly waited too long to book for Oktoberfest. However, perfectly fine (if generic American) hotel at the Arabella Platz U banh stop. My only complaint is it takes 10ish minutes to get to the main train station.
