10-12 day milestone trip ideas

Anonymous
Trying to decide on a 10-12 day trip for 2 adults And 2 older teens celebrating a high school graduation , some Milestone birthday / anniversaries etc…

Like beautiful scenery, hiking, nice healthy food, and probably a mix of outdoors and maybe more urban

Would be late July/ beginning of Aug
Considered
- Hawaii
- south of France ; Paris , London
- lakes in Italy and Switzerland
- Ireland or Scotland / London (but might like something sunny and not grey)
- Iceland ?

Parents have been to Hawaii and several locations in Europe , kids have not

We did Hawaii for 10 days last summer with two teens and everyone loved it. If it wasn’t so far I’d definitely go back soon! We split between Kauai and Maui and loved both. I don’t recommend more than two islands.

Cotswold hiking/walking looks fun.

England can be hot and sunny in summer.

How about London then Cotswolds then Edinburgh then Skye and return London.

Yes, or Pacific NW- can do Seattle and one of the surrounding nature areas (San Juan Islands or Olympic NP or Rainier, etc), or Vancouver and Vancouver Island/Whistler, etc.

Perfect time of year to be there- the glorious non-humid days and cool mornings are amazing.

I like the US and Canadian destinations mentioned above.

If you want Europe, maybe a trip with a stopover in Iceland?

I know everybody’s afraid of national parks trips, but before you gave the locations, the first thing that came to mine was Yellowstone and grand Teton for 10 to 12 days, or at least Montana and Wyoming. There’s so much to do and it’s such a beautiful country that time of year

French alps but it’ll won’t be an easy trip to plan. Have you browsed Tauck tours or Backroads for ideas?

Iceland + Europe is a good mix (we did Amsterdam and Belgium) though I’m sure Hawaii would be great too. I wouldn’t do Ireland/England/Scotland. I did a couple trips there with my parents as a teen and they were pretty boring.

Funny you think other countries will want Americans in another month.

Funny you think you will have money in another month.

But hey it's your dream.

Hawaii has the most to offer for teens and you.
London & Coswalds
Italy absolutely not from flooding to heat bad idea.
