Why is the word sky$craper blocked?

Were there vicious urban development battles on DCUM in the distant past?

Please unblock it if possible. I like to talk about architecture and travel.

Skyscraper was not blocked. What was blocked was "KYS" which some idiot posters have been using for "kill yourself" as a response to posts they don't like. But, that inadvertently blocked skyscraper. I've removed it so now users won't be blocked for telling each other to kill themselves.

You can't block things by pattern including word-boundary metacharacter?

It's possible to use word boundaries but I would have to redo the entire system for blocking. It's not an inherent capability of the system but something that has to sort be hacked into it. I may get around to it some day.
