| where does one find a HS level private track coach? Our HS track coach doesn't coach and our child needs some coaching. |
| Finding a track coach with real track coaching experience is difficult. Consider asking another school's track coach. Or, reach out to your local youth track club. You'd be surprised how many college track athletes who are now dads. I know one dad who almost made the Olympics in the 90s. He coached different levels for a few years along with our kid's youth track program. He was an amazing coach. Really knew the technical aspects of the sprinting. |

Warning - do not tell anyone. HS coach is likely monitoring miles weekly for each athlete (to lesson injury if distance runner). They are VERY territorial.
|
| They are only care if the kid is good. |
Our HS coach has openly said she does not care about distance runners or events so what would be the harm? |
| I asked this question last year and didn’t really get any answers. I ended up talking to DD’s HS coach, who connected us with someone really great. I know that’s not everyone’s experience though. |
| Looking in MD if that is relevant and have a good person to share |

I also looked and did not find anyone.
But reach out to Laura Heilman with Seven Locks Running Club. She is a legend (currently has 7 national record holders in her team) and may know someone. |
