A sweet retirement-age couple in my life are getting their first brand new car ever, after years of driving old and unreliable cars. They are quite excited about it, and I want to share in their excitement by surprising them with a gift for their new car. The car apparently comes well-appointed with weather mats, cargo accessories, and all the bells and whistles.
I’m stumped. Any clever ideas? |

gas gift card?
|
| Unlimited car wash package? I think it's $20/month at Mr. Wash paid annually. |
| Car wash gift card. |
| A dancing hula girl for the dashboard of course |
this will likely come free with the car purchase and then about $4 per month for another year |
| ooh I like the car wash gift -- it's a little splurgy (vs the gas gift card that is practical). Both great |

Not sure this occasion really needs a gift.
But...I suggest finding the Matchbox or Hotwheels version of their new car. |
Nothing at all needs a gift, but some people are more thoughtful than others. I agree, find a good car wash place in their area. |

My suggestions are non-glamorous but handy:
1. I recently got one of my kids a small folder for keeping the car registration and insurance paperwork in their glove compartment and I liked it so much I bought one for all of our cars. Valardoh is the brand I got (Amazon) but I think they're all pretty similar. I liked the way the interior pockets were arranged on this one. 2. One of my family members needed to evacuate after Hurricane Helene and no one in the area had phone service. Combine that with several major roads/highways being closed and it was a really stressful situation. After that I experience I ordered simple paper foldable maps for each car just in case (Amazon again, national geographic brand was the one I settled on). You can get them for your region ... you don't necessarily need the whole U.S. but I'd get one larger than your state that shows how the interstates connect. 3. Car charging cord with a braided cord (seem to be sturdier than the plastic kind) |
