Please recommend a nice hotel in Athens for DH and I - we have 2 days/1 night to spend. Would like it to be a pretty nice spot, close to the tourist sites we'd like to visit. TIA! |
I stayed at Athens Was a few years ago-right by the Acropolis and the museum. Loved it. |
We loved the ERGON House. Amazing location, wonderful breakfast and rooftop. Rooms are fantastic. |
Bump - any other suggestions? |
There’s always the King George— it was too expensive for us but we did go to the roof for a drink. |
It's been over 10 years, but AVA Athens was great. |
We stayed here too - booked through bookings dot com. Really great experience. Our friends stays at the King George and no complaints. |
You might want to google what’s happening in Athens right now. |
Olympiakos getting back on top of the Super League? |
We really enjoyed the Electra Palace -great service, great location. |
A bomb was set off at a train station two days ago, and over the weekend there were riots with protestors throwing Molotov cocktails leading to many arrests. |
I am in Athens now. No issues. We are in Koukaki area, very nice, less touristy |
We stayed at the Phillipos Hotel. I loved the location, which is behind the Acropolis. Convenient to the sites (less than five minutes from the Acropolis museum) and somewhat residential. Terrific staff and breakfast but rooms felt a little dull. Perhaps better would be the adjacent sister hotel, which appears to be slightly more upmarket (and has a well known bar with Acropolis Views). It’s called the Herodion. If you stay in this area, do not miss two wonderful pocket bars, Druz Spritzeria and Lotte bar/cafe. Druz is across from one of Athens’s most famous bakeries and doubles as a morning coffee shop. |
Same! |
