JD Vance - Sells House to a Contractor and Lobbyist.

Vance is going to have a big capital gains tax.

They paid extra for a couch disposal unit.

Grifters gonna grift…no conflict of interest here at all taking a price over asking by a lobbyist to the federal government. No one ever accused this govt of caring about ethics.

Plenty of posts here with people getting 100k plus over listing. Are they all crooked too?

Are they all the vice-president of the US selling a house to someone who makes their living getting face time with the federal government?

Vance sold his house for 170K over. It is possible that this is simply the "market speaking." I don't think so. And in any case, public officials are supposed to avoid the perception of impropriety, and this doesn't avoid it at all.

A government contractor and lobbyist who served in President Donald Trump’s first administration bought Vice President JD Vance’s Virginia home in an above-market deal, a sale his spokesperson says was based on the market.

Did you read the article you linked? It’s right there.

Despite the sale price being $170,000 over asking, Garcia did not appear to pay more than the market price for the home. The $1.9 million purchase price works out to $642 per square foot—below the $741 per square foot average of 10 comparable Alexandria homes sold in 2024, according to city data.

Even worse. It was a give away to a contractor for future considerations!

I hate Vance, and the optics indeed stink, but this appears to be just regular spring market shenanigans in Northern Virginia.

Sorry MAGA- you haven’t quite crashed us yet, despite getting your hopes up last month. Houses are going under contract in days for thousands over list.

I actually don't think this is sketchy because who else would buy JD Vance's house? Only someone already on the Trump train or currying favor with the administration would be happy and eager to own this home instead of being mortified.

It's simply the logical outcome.
