It’s horrifying this still continues. |
Who cares. |
Animal experiments need to stop but especially for dogs. I can’t imagine what kind of psycho can even bring themselves to participate in that. |
It looked just like our beagle at home. That’s really sad. |
I mean, the reality of things like mice studies is you simply wouldn't have any new medicines or medical research, there simply isn't an alternative. I know someone who is a medical researcher and they quite like their mice and rats, but yes, they do have to euthanize them as part of their research. |
I can’t even look. |
Me neither. I'm not clicking that link. |
More of us here than you. |
This. Would you rather they test on humans? Or halt all new medicine? |
Not ok but those concerned should not be eating meat or giving it to their pets. |
I am not that poster but I much rather they test on animals than humans. Please go sign yourself and your children up to run these experiments so that you can save and dog. |
I'm not going to look, but I'd rather stuff be tested on dogs before it's given to humans.
How is it really that different from us eating cows or pigs? |
I'm not inherently opposed to animal testing, but I am opposed to animal cruelty. It's clear that some of these facilities charging $1000 for test dogs aren't providing proper housing, sanitation and care for their animals.
You don't have to be cruel about it. |
It's not horrifying that it happens, but how it happens is unnecessarily cruel, especially in some of the examples provided. I understand the necessity of testing on animals to protect human safety. I don't see any justification for inhumane practices beyond the necessary testing. Tiny crates, surgical procedures without anesthesia, poor animal husbandry... all of that is a choice, not a must. If you're going to raise and/or use animals for testing, you should at least meet a basic standard of care and hygiene for them at all times. |
They should experiment on rapists and murderers, not innocent dogs. |
