Conservatives have been crashing in polls for weeks.

Do the Libs suspect that anti-Conservative/anti-Trump sentiment will rebound soon?

Yes, they want to ride on their current polling high. Even Trump has endorsed the Liberals.

The polls are good for Liberals right now, and an endorsement from the voters would be a good thing for Carney. It makes sense as a time for him to call an election.

Trump says Pollievre is "stupidly" no friend of his. (Trump is just so eloquent, isn't he?) And that he would rather work with the Liberals. Add Trump's demented twist to that, and he wants Pollievre to win.

Not helping matters, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has apparently been meddling.

No, he doesn't. He wants another minion in Pollievre. He seems to think everyone is stupid. We need to prove him wrong.

Trump just says whatever he thinks will make him look good temporarily. Libs are winning so he says he prefers them. He's all about fake displays of "confidence". But he also has the problem that when your platform is "I hate everyone and want to scam everyone", then paradoxically your allies and bedfellows must be people who hate you and who you hate, because they and you are part of everyone..
