Snow White Remake

Has anyone seen this yet? What did you think?

I have not seen it, but it annoys me that the main character is told to be ‘fearless, fair, brave, and true’ multiple times. Aren’t ‘fearless’ and ‘brave’ basically the same thing.

No, being brave is often doing something despite one's fears.

I'd probably keep brave and scrap fearless. Fear is useful as long as you don't let it take over.

The reviews say it’s dreadful.

I saw it today. I don’t think it’s as bad as the reviews and all the online negativity suggest it is. It’s just mediocre. The best parts of it is what’s a direct recreation of thr original Disney animation. rachel zegler has an amazing voice and has that sweet ingenue demeanour that makes you believe why the woodland creatures would love her.

I didn’t like the addition of the bandits, that was unnecessary, or the CGI of the Dwarfs. F*** Peter Dinklage for browbeating them into not hiring real little people for those roles. Everyone lost with decision especially the quality of the final product.

Cont.. I also liked how the narrative changes acknowledged that Snow White was the birthright Queen and gave her the agency to fight her evil stepmother for her kingdom back. That was an appropriate modernisation from the 1930s portrayal of a female protagonist.

No thanks. It should be called something else. Totally different story line and characters. And main actress can’t stop herself from publicly ridiculing “old fairy tales and writing”.

What’s her problem anyways? Why’d her agent let her go speak total trash on so many interviews?

She even insulted animation advances in the first half 1900s.

Why would he do this? Doesn't he want people with dwarfism to get more roles?

I saw it and enjoyed it. Less cloying than Wicked.

I saw it. I thought it was fine. My 4 year old enjoyed it. It wasn’t too violent or long and we liked the music.

If it is true, I am guessing he wants to get all the roles himself. Not give anyone else a chance to show they, too, can act.

The Wash Post review gave it 3 out of 4 stars -- which is about as high as they give.

Just not interested based on all her rhetoric. Hard to focus on movie without thinking of all the hate she spews. No thanks.

These dwarves are bad characters and he wants people to be more than stereotypes. The real issue is remaking this at all when there are hundreds of unexplored fairytales worldwide.

Gal is dreadful as ever. My daughter liked it enough and I hated every second of it because of Gal and the costume design. Rachel was lovely though. I liked her quite a bit in thst Hunger games movie too.
