We have camped at state and national parks in the past and plan to this summer but looking for other ideas too. Are holding off on planning summer trips due to job insecurity and budget (single mom fed).
Any suggestions nearby of camping options that have fun things to do (walkable if possible) as part of the camp ground with a 2 year old? A lot of the state parks have loops where people can drive up to the campsite and would prefer to be a bit off the road with a 2 year old AND not super close to rivers/lakes/pools that I would have to worry about a toddler running off to. Would love something with a pool/ water park/ lake to swim but not something super close. |
You didn't say where you live, but both Gambrill and Greenbrier are Maryland State parks we enjoyed with young kids. Sandy beach playground, walk around the lake, and of course, ice cream and smores. |
The Jellystone camps in Williamsport and Luray are really fun.
