U9/U10 boys team suggestions in PG County

| We're new to the area. I have 2 boys who love the sport and played travel in upstate NY. What are competitive programs with great development in our area? Reading these posts most of the conversations are around VA and Montgomery county programs. I know we won't be able to make practices that far out. |

| Ignore the Nova parents. I would check out MD United (deeper in PG), Takoma Park Friends, Cheverly or Freedom if they are young and looking for development. Closer to the city on that side of DC are Bethesda Navy/Red (the extension into the old Dematha), Washington Capital United, DC Way. Alexandria if you are more towards the beltway is not a bad suggestion either. |

Welcome to the DMV and ignore the hate on this forum! Some old red lining habits die hard. Some good suggestions already made including MD United. Baltimore Mania tournament is this weekend and the games in your age group are mostly or all at Liberty Sports park. The best thing to do is go watch the teams and see what they are like. You have a lot of great options relatively near you. One suggestion is to be realistic about what level your boys will play. N most of these clubs the “top” team has a very different vibe than the others in the same club and age group.

| We are in Bowie. Thanks everyone. It's really confusing to understand also because on this forum people say programs overcharge at the younger level. The boys love soccer and are pretty good. |

Go watch the following teams on Sunday: U9: 9am Touch Kings * U9: 10am Takoma Park Soccer Club U9: 12pm Coppermine U10: 9am Maryland United U10: 2pm Coppermine *I know someone who lives in Bowie whose kids attends McNamara who plays for them Talk to the coaches after based on what you see and where the fit may seem to be the best. | Going to be a fly on the wall at a tournament is a great idea! You can learn a lot about how the coach interacts with the kids, how kids interact with each other, and how parents behave in higher pressure situations. Stay away from the teams where everyone is screaming! So stressful for kids that age. |
