I have a significant tax refund due this year because of the tax credit for solar panels. First time getting a refund in years. Filed electronically on March 2 but refund still not approved.
Is this a normal time frame or is it likely delayed (Perhaps due to solar credit, or just Trump induced chaos at the IRS)? |
| I think three weeks is the average. I filed two weeks ago and am not yet worried. |
| My return was filed and accepted March 2 or 3 and the refund hit my bank account later that week. |
What does the IRS tool say? Mine hasn’t moved at all (OP). |
| My return was filed last Friday (3/14), accepted Monday (3/17), money from federal and state deposited today (Friday, 3/21). Our taxes are not the most straightforward, but have been consistently complex over the last 5 or so years. |
| I got mine much faster this year than last. I was worried due to layoffs. Maybe my 3 kids got me on the “nice” list. |
| Ugh, this is OP. I definitely think they are revising mine because of my (completely legit) solar credit and under the current environment who knows how long this will take. |
It varies from a week to 2 months on average for decades. Perhaps you are being scrutinized and it's taking longer? |
