I carried something like this for 3 weeks in Italy, etc.

I’ve seen pickpockets in Italy, France, and the UK. A crossbody with a thick strap that can’t be cut is a must. You need to wear it tight and high on your chest and keep a hand on it when in crowds.

Other tips: don’t wear fancy jewelry. And avoid public transportation if you want to be extra careful.

It worked very well. It stored my passport, cash and credit cards. It was very comfortable, did not show, easy to pack.

I also use that Peak Gear belt. I don’t put it on me though, I put it in a “secret pocket” in my backpack. I put passport in there.

Can someone please explain to me like I'm 5, what is the benefit of RFID blocking? What info are the baddies trying to capture, and from what items?

I wore it inside jacket, just for keeping passport and a small coin purse (1-2 credit cards with minimum cash in case) safe. I also used phone neck strap and made payment using iPhone.
