Wedding shower questions

Is it common to hold wedding showers at two locations around country? Just seems like …

If invited to the shower that is not local to the bride, do you send the gift to their home 2,000 miles away? Isn’t part of the shower opening gifts?

There’s one registry. I used to think of showers as being somewhat less expensive, practical gifts. The wedding gift was a bigger deal. Is this still true?

Thank you in advance. Only going to this to keep family peace.

Is the mailing address for registry where bride to be lives (2000 miles away)? What's easiest for you??
You can purchase gift from registry and take with you to shower. Or order off registry and send an email to the bride-to-be with the confirmation of your purchase so they know before shower you got her something. Or print out confirmation of purchase and stick it in a card so bride has that from you to open at her wedding shower. Family is wonderful, isn't it?

Order ahead from the registry and mail to the brides home. No, gifts are not opened in public anymore, because no one wants to see the $500 gift v the $20 gift and be made to feel bad because they didn't spend $$$

This is NOT true. Plenty of people STILL open gifts in person. All should be adults in that room, get over yourself with that $20 versus $500 thing. Everyone knows bride is not going to get the same level gift (duh that's why there are different priced gifts on a registry), nor are guests expected to get a higher priced one. Plus you don't know what else the bride has received from a $20 gifter.

Yes. But if you don't make it in time, you can do what PP listed above.
