It was mentioned a few times on the “best trips for kids under 10” and we’d like to see friends this summer. Where’s a good hotel to stay? I’d like to be able to walk to some attractions if possible. We have an early teen who likes museums |
I’m actually surprised so many people said Atlanta. I would say the Ritz and it’s shockingly low compared with others. Best pancakes I have ever had in my life! We also stayed at the Inn at Serenbe which is similar to Blackberry Farm vibes but not as expensive. |
We stayed at Embassy Suites Centennial Park, but Ritz is not our price point. Embassy Suites is very close to the College Football Hall of Fame, Aquarium, World of Coke, Children's Museum (not for early teen), SkyView. Also National Center for Civil and Human Rights, but that's being renovated. I think the botanical garden is pretty close, too.
Also we had no car, but we've done Atlanta with a car and stayed somewhere outside of town, too. Or you can rent a car for part of the trip. |
It may depend what kind of vacation you like. We're more of the "trip" kind of people who like museums and don't want to sit at a pool or beach or get pampered. I say trip because to us it's a vacation but DCUM seems to call this kind of itinerary a trip. |
There’s a hotel across the street from the aquarium and is also walkable to a bunch of other things. Not fancy at all but super convenient. |
Wow you’re right! I just found rooms at the Ritz for $211/night in August (probably because it will be hot and the south is back in school?) |
