Administration seeks to contain SSN mistakenly released

You really got to hand it to the administration. We they make mistakes they’re always swinging for the fences. Even when trying to distract folks with JFK files they still somehow managed to release personal data of a bunch of other people.

Who trust them to manage issuing a new SSN without losing pertinent info?

I wouldn't trust them to clean my toilet.

“President Trump delivered on his promise of maximum transparency by fully releasing the files related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement. “At the request of the White House, the National Archives and the Social Security Administration immediately put together an action plan to proactively help individuals whose personal information was released in the files.”

Only Karoline could present this as a triumph of the administration.

Amazing that they would release 60,000 pages of documents publicly and not even glance through to realize that they were exposing the SSNs of 400 citizens (and some other private information.)

This administration really excels at its incompetence and laziness.

Well, they wanted to release it quickly, so the release of just a few hundred SSNs is a small price to pay for the increased transparency...

I don’t think she knows what “proactive” means.

This is why American should be staging a revolt against Musk and DOGE. They are going to leak data. They are not good developers. They’re sloppy.

Additionally, do you want Musk training AI data on your data? Your health and financial data?

This is the downside of hiring a group of teen and 20somethings to fix things with digital chainsaws.

How about some transparency into Trump's financials obligations to foreign adversaries?

That’s fine, they can just buy them credit monitoring for a couple of years.

They are also issuing them new SSNs, apparently. So these old people will have to spend time changing all their records - health insurance, retirement etc. etc.

It is amateur hour every day with this administration. It is so embarrassing. If any one of these mistakes was committed by another president , it would be such a scandal. We are so used to them that it is not even major news.

This is pathetic and awful. But if not even close to most harmful of the administration's mistakes.

This is a loser administration. This is the sound byte.

LOSER ADMINISTRATION

He was a big guy, with tears in his eyes and he said "Sir, my toilet is the dirtiest from a standpoint of dirt. Only you can clean it!"
