Anyone else excited for - Sunrise on the Reaping (Hunger Games Book 5)

Sunrise on the Reaping was released today. It should be in my mailbox right now, and I can't wait to get home.

It's Haymitch's story, which I've been waiting for.

Meh, I'd almost rather see the series move forward at this point. Backstories are too much like fanfic, sorry.

Fingers crossed. I didn't like the Snakes prequel about President Snow. It just wasn't that good.

Oh I didn’t know today was release day. I’m looking forward to it! Gonna check my local library now.

Lolol 463 in line. Maybe I’ll get to read it before the movie version comes out

I had a difficult time with getting past the names. But I did enjoy the story and the movie.

I’m 935th! It would probably be faster for me to write my own version of Haymitch’s back story.

I loved the trilogy, hated the Snow prequel, and thought this one was okay (not great.) There was a lot of heavy handed fan service, but the political allegory was on point, as always.

😂
I hope for our sakes these 1500 people are voracious readers!

Just got it on Libby and devoured it within the day. I liked it a lot better than the Songsbirds and Snakes prequel. It may be my favorite of the series apart from the very first hunger games novel. So many cameos from the Hunger Games universe

Daughter got it and finished on our first day of spring break. It will move on to our son next!

It would be faster to go read fanfic which already exists...

I'm reading it now. I've enjoyed all the books, even the Snow prequel. The author is just SO great at political allegory; the themes (unfortunately) feel so timely, and I loved the opening philosophical quotes about control and governance.

Thanks for the heads up! Got on the wait-list. Haymitch might be my favorite character.

I liked the Snow story. Did I get more tolerant/less high-brow, or did the writing improve? Maybe rotting my brain with the Internet allowed me to read it without the seeing the writing flaws that made Hunger Games a little painful to read.

Anyone finish this yet? Curious what you all thought.
