Three Favorite Places to Eat in DC

Give me your three favorite pleaces to eat in DC. Bonus points if you have different pics for dinners with friends with kids, for date nights, and with out-of-towners

Well it’s hard to pick three and this is gojng yo seems llle a really old fogey list but I might say something like:

Sfoglina
Jalen
Moon rabbit

Honorable mentions
Lapis
Oyamel
Chino Chicano
Rasika

I’ll also note my eating is concentrated downtown and I realize there’s a ton of great restaurants now in a big swath of the city that I don’t spend enough time in.

I think Rasika is a classic. Maybe Jaleo too?

Rasika (Palak Chaat is an iconic dish and this is the original...I like both Downtown and West End, though their menus do vary slightly)
Sfoglina (If I remember correctly, their gelato is homemade and very good)
Lia's/Chef Geoff's (Good for standard American fare and if you have guests with differing tastes...we like it as a last-minute go-to also)

PP here...we are vegetarian so that's a factor.
Also, Zaytinya is good too! We need to go there more.
