Anyone having new (or renewed) fear of flying?

Between the recent spate of accidents and Elon firing half the government/safety regulators, it's starting to seem scary out there. Not to mention climate change causing unprecedented turbulence. I know it's still safe statistically but it's messing with my head.

I've never been afraid of flying, but I'm a little anxious right now.

I've never been a nervous flyer and I'll continue to fly, but I'd be lying to say this hasn't crossed my mind.

I'm supposed to fly early May and am a little nervous about it.

I am relieved I have no commercial flights for most of this year.

Are you nervous walking across the street? How about driving to work or the supermarket? Are you nervous you're gonna get hit by lightning? All are significantly more likely to occur than anything commercial aviation related.

Nope. Thousands of times more likely to die in a car accident.

Not a chance I'm getting on a plane any time soon.

I’m a nervous flyer but also a brown person who is a naturalized citizen. So I’ll be avoiding international flights for some time.

We need another thread on this?

Nope. I would get on a plane tomorrow without a second thought. DD flew back to school Sunday and DH flew today. Not the least bit worried

No. I bought my own plane.

I’ve never liked flying since 9/11 but I also took a flight out of Newark that week and had a bad feeling about that flight before I got on it… not been right about flying ever since. However, my DH flies for work and family obligations and I am extra nervous these - whether it’s logical or not, I’ve always worried about a collision at National due to the warnings they have given over the years so with each incident I get a little more reluctant to fly at all.
