I requested my DD's packet and am trying to determine if this is a good HOPE score:
4 Always 5 Almost always 2 Often 5 boxes checked for exceptional talent (Math, Science, Reading, Language, Writing) Comment is about language skills being fluent (She is in Spanish Immersion but we do not speak it at home). I am pleasantly surprised, I think? |
Excellent score! |
Thank you! It does seem like a good picture of my kid but I wasn't sure - she has a tendency to be a little too social and I feared that might impact her. It really does seem subjective. |
Very nice Hope score. Congrats to your daughter on working hard |
Great score! |
I think she knew it was a great score. No need to keep telling her. |
I would.lovw to know what a hope score is and how it's determined. Just got my child's score from ACPS and there no qualifiable info. |
https://davis.agendaonline.net/public/Meeting/Attachments/DisplayAttachment.aspx?AttachmentID=238383&IsArchive=0 This looks link instructions to teachers on how to administer it |
Thank you! |
My kid got an excellent HOPE score, but this instruction is disturbing. Segregate the children by income, gender, and culture group before rating? How do the raters know the child's income group? And why should "always," "never" (frequency of behavior ratings) differ from racial group to racial group or faith community to faith community or boy to girl? The whole scheme seems backward. |
HOPE is nothing a code word for DEI. |
