GDS Policy institute...competitive?

| Trying to figure out if GDS's policy institute, which is open to kids from any school this year, is competitive to get into or not. Did anyone get turned down? |

| We were told that 2/3 of the current GDS sophomore class applied, so I assume it's competitive. |

Used to be free, last year it was $500, this year it's $1200 for GDS students and $2800 I think for non GDS students.
My son did it last year and loved it, and he got all his high school service hours done, so it was certainly worth it. But with the higher prices? And not needing the service hours? Not sure. He got in again, and is trying to decide. |
