We started watching Running Point on Netflix because we were bored - and it's really fun! It's a very lighthearted, low stakes show about a bunch of siblings running an NBA team their father owned after he dies. Kate Hudson is the only girl - she ends up in charge. Hijinks ensue.
Schmidt from New Girl is on it. Justin Theroux is the oldest brother who was in charge until (more hijinks). The older brother from The Other Two is one of the siblings. Tom Hanks's forgotten son Chet is on it in a memorable supporting role. Anyone else watching? Other shows I like include Ted Lasso, Ghosts, Schitt's Creek, Psych, to give you some sense of where my sensibilities lie. Though I also really like Severance, White Lotus, and Yellowjackets. |
I watched it a couple weeks ago and thought it was cute. I like Brenda Song as Kate's friend/confidant.
Was it picked up for a second season? I wish they would stop trying to make us believe Kate is much younger than she actually is. |
I like it too! Lately I’ve been a sucker for low-stakes half hour comedies, and this one hits perfectly. To answer PP, it has been renewed for a second season. |
I'm really enjoying it too--watched a few episodes with my college kid and her boyfriend here over spring break and we all really liked it. |
Do you get teh sense they're trying to make Kate Hudson seem younger? I don't think so? She's supposed to be JT's younger sister - he's 53 in real life and she's 45. That seems right? Max Greenfield - playing her fiance - is also 45 in real life. |
