Bachelorette party idea?

Hosting a bachelorette party for a friend, any ideas for the 30 plus crowd?

What is the budget and are the invitees all friends too?

Best bachelorette parties I've been to were my own (friend rented a cabin & we had an old fashioned slumber party but all attendees were old friends) and another time was a weekend trip away (all were old friends).

I went to one where we made arrangements with a small spa to be open just to us for a couple hours. The spa offered half treatments (half hour massages, so cheaper than the real thing, mini facials, etc. so it was a bit more budget friendly). We had food and wine in the lobby of the spa (which was decked out with couches) and then guests paid for whatever treatments they wanted. After that we all went out for a fancy dessert. Very fun and low key.

I second the slumber party idea. I've been to two of those in my (late) 30s.

* whoever has the largest house, kick out any non-attendees for the evening (children, spouses). Get spa-at-home services (massage, nails, etc). Yummy food and drink.
* hotel w/ spa treatments. DC-area hotels often have great weekend rates b/c they are traditionally business hotels and are not full on weekends. Everyone pays for their own spa treatments and chips in for the bride. Split the hotel bill. Either go out to eat, or get room service. Bring any booze you might consume in the room. Bring fun / silly games, if desired.

My friends gave me an in-home wine tasting that was lots of fun. It helped that the guy doing it was very cute.
