The race starts at 8:00, I’m in corral 9, which starts at 8:20 or 8:30. According to WMATA trip planner, my metro train leaves West Falls Church at 7:08, arrives at Federal Triangle (right near the start line) at 7:32. Yet the person at the information booth today tried to dissuade me from taking Metro, saying I should be in my corral 45 to 60 minutes early.
Huh? I hate waiting around and want to get there as late as practicable. Anyone else have experience doing this? It’s my first RnR in DC, but I took Metro to the Army Ten Miler and it was fine. Thanks. |
It should be listed on metro's website |
There’s no reason to be there an hour early unless you’re at the front of the corrals. You should be fine assuming the train is on time. |
For next year. There is no reason to be there early at all. Every year my buddy and I are in corral 1 just behind the elite group. We get in there with like 2 minutes to go and do a warm up along 14th ahead of the start chute. I imagine the earlier corrals would work the same way.
Plenty of people corral themselves wrong anyways which is to be expected at these massive road races. |
