SAT, 3/15 DC MARATHON TRAFFIC

Anonymous
The Rock & Roll Marathon, the one you love to hate, will be taking place on Saturday. If you have plans to do any driving into downtown DC, stop and make different plans.

This one is painful in terms of its course route. It shuts down north-south traffic across a large swath of NW.

Kindly respond to keep this post at the top of “Recent Topics” so that as many folks see it today. Thank you.

This marathon should be banned, I don't understand how it's still allowed. So disruptive to residents.

Their website is so unhelpful, what time is this going to mess everything up?

On Saturday, March 15, 2025, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon and 5K will take place in the District of Columbia. In conjunction with this event, there will be parking restrictions and street closures that motorists should take into consideration.

When safe to do so, the Metropolitan Police Department will assist motorists in crossing the race route to help relieve traffic congestion due to the extended closures. However, motorists should not rely on crossing the route and should plan on going around the traffic closures.

Why does the city allow this? Does it need money for something?
