Have All Federal Internships been Cancelled?

| Federal agencies historically offered many high quality internships. Did anyone's kid get a Federal internship for this Summer that has not been cancelled? DS at UMD does not know anyone who has one in hand. |

| My kid has one that hasn’t been cancelled and was surprisingly offered a second one from another agency earlier this week. We know it is still moving through the system as it requires clearance and the process has continued. Both are defense related. We understand these could be pulled at any time, but for now they seem to be on track. |

Courts and legislative branches operate independently so those internships are likely safe. But executive agencies internships are probably going to be cancelled (or will be a pretty miserable interning working for the federal government while Elon Musk dismantles it and fires all the career people that would be the ones supervising the interns). Just another sad consequence of this chaos. |

| Our office has spring interns, but we are not looking at hiring any summer interns. Nobody has told us that we can’t, but we cannot possibly in good conscience offer an internship to students when we don’t even know if we will exist by summer. It’s really sad. We have always had a really good set of interns who have had a great experiences with us. |
